An elementary school teacher for over two decades, Laurie Krebs, began her literary career by writing stories for her class. Her multi cultural picture books, many of which have been published by Barefoot Books, have a special place in our household.
She has done a popular non fiction series on Colonial tradesman for older kids.

The children and I made books together – they dictated the words and I copied them into BIG BOOKS. Then the children illustrated them. It was great fun for us all. I began to make my own books for the class during my summer vacations and finally took some classes in writing for children.
